TESTIMONIALS
N.L. (6th grade parent)
Eileen is a veteran teacher and highly skilled educational therapist. My son (6th grade) says she understands his learning difficulties in ways other teachers do not. Eileen immediately built a good rapport with him by showing a genuine interest in his life and his thinking. She has helped him reflect on how he thinks and why math is challenging for him, and she has helped him develop skills and strategies. I appreciate Eileen's warmth, strong communication and reliability.

Eileen has gone beyond our expectations in terms of communicating both with me and the psychologist testing our daughter. The psychologist shared with me how impressed she was with Eileen. She said Eileen is uncommonly thoughtful and perceptive about her students and that she noticed small details and how they may relate to areas of difficulty. For so many reasons, we are happy our daughter is working with Eileen.

Our daughter built so much confidence around writing! Eileen engaged her by talking dogs with her and then somehow wove that topic into much of their work. Our daughter developed strategies to generate, hold, and organize ideas. Her spelling and even her illegible handwriting improved! She even wants to share her writing with us. She says she is going to write a screen play (about dogs)! After "hating" writing, we can now see she views herself as capable despite her challenges. We are also thankful for Eileen's insight and guidance in helping us better understand our daughter's challenges and strengths.
2nd grade student
I learned that tricky words, well, you are a person who can help with those words! I learned some books are better to read. I learned about how to think about how to read. Our time is fun and nice. I like that not everything is easy for me. It is peaceful. Helpful. You help me with reading in ways that I wouldn't think I would be able to read. It makes me feel good because I hadn't been able to read before. I remember it felt so good when I first read a whole page in a chapter book!
